GIVING BACK TO CHILDREN OF OUR NATION’S TROOPS
December 2, 2013
We are on our way to Seymour Johnson Air Force Base in North Carolina to honor families that serve our nation. Manufacturers, retailers, and others in the industry are welcome to donate toys by completing our donation form (.pdf).
Separating from parents, worrying about their safety in combat, leaving friends behind as families relocate, and readjusting when parents return are all difficult circumstances military youth face.
How We Are Partners
Through our unique partnership with Boys and Girls Clubs of America (BGCA) Military Services, our Play Comforts program provides Toy Bank toys for thousands of families in every branch of the U.S. military at home and overseas. By giving tens of thousands of donated toys to children on more than 30 bases annually, we seek to ease their stress, show our appreciation for their sacrifice, and bring these families together through play.
At five or more installations each year, we also host fun-filled celebrations for military families domestically and internationally. Costume parties, field days, carnivals complete with bouncy houses, and movie nights around the world have brought American service men and women together with their children. Together with BGCA, we are proud to share the joy of play and create moments of family togetherness through these toy giveaways.
The Difference We Make Together
Since 2009, we have distributed more than $3.5 million worth of Toy Bank toys and we have granted nearly $300,000 in funds to BGCA to make this program possible. To join the effort, toy companies can donate toys (.pdf), and anyone is welcome to contribute funds in support of our partnership.
